This completely transparent 1 litre soy sauce takes the concept of seasoned soy sauce to the extreme.

Made from distilled koikuchi soy sauce, it combines the deep flavour of soy sauce with culinary aesthetics, as it does not alter the colour of the original ingredients.

Flavour: Deep and long on the palate, typical of koikuchi soy sauces, and very rich in umami.

Use: Perfect for seasoning sea bream carpaccio, sushi, vegetables, pasta or egg-based sauces.

Ingredients: Soy sauce distillate (defatted soybeans, wheat, salt), salt, vinegar, flavour enhancers (E621, E635), alcohol, sweetener (E955).

Allergens : Soya, Wheat.

Storage : Keep in a cool and dry place, away from light.

Origin : Japan.

The Okubo company behind this product was founded in Kumamoto in the 17th century, even before the castle was built.

Initially, it produced sake and, in particular, akazake, a traditional sake of the region found in its Heisei soy sauce.

At the same time, the family also established a stock brokerage business.

In 1869, the eleventh generation refocused the family factory on making soy sauce under the Fundodai brand.

In 2019, the company celebrated its 150th anniversary.

Proud of its history, the coat of arms with the ‘dai’ character of the Okubo family runs through its history: firstly, the first character of the Okubo surname, but also a reference to its former currency exchange business and, finally, the characteristic symbol of the old scales.
